This film takes elements from the 1956 version of Anastasia. Such as Anastasia surviving, trying to find out where she came from and meeting a dashing and handsome young man.
Released to capitalize on Anastasia (1997), however the movie also borrows elements from Beauty and the Beast (1991).
In this film, only Anastasia's sister Tatiana and her younger brother Alexei are featured as her siblings. In reality, Anastasia had three older sisters: Olga, Tatiana and Maria, and younger brother Alexei.
