TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The social housing complex that Miller is living in is the Heygate estate at Elephant and Castle. You can see the Strata in one of the scene where Miller broke through some barricade to have the night view. The Heygate has since been demolished to make way for Elephant Park by Lend Lease.

Langdon mentions "Conolly's Great Game", this is a reference to Arthur Conolly's term that he coined in reference to the struggle between the British and Russian Empires over control of Central Asia.

Prior to filming, the training budget was slashed so Toby Kebbell paid for his own physical trainer, often under the supervision of screenwriter Robert Henry Craft (who is a former paratrooper).

Popular Dialogues

"[last lines] Gerry Langdon: The organizing principle of any society is for war. The basic authority of the modern state over its people resides in its war powers. Today it's oil, tomorrow, water. It's what we like to call the GOD business: Guns, Oil, and Drugs. But there is a problem. Our way of life, its over. It's unsustainable and in rapid decline. That's why we implement demand destruction. We continue to make money as the world burns. But for this to work the people have to remain ignorant of the problem until it's too late. That's why we have triggers in place: 9/11, 7/7, WMDs. A population in a permanent state of fear does not ask questions. Our desire for war becomes *its* desire for war. A willing sacrifice. You see, fear is justification, fear is control, fear is money. You're a brilliant soldier and I could still use someone like you. Robert Miller: I'll ask you one more time. Where is she? Gerry Langdon: Do you know the term "train tracking?" And "batterying?" Perhaps you should look closer to home. The young men of your estate. So vicious. Poor Alayna wouldn't stand... [takes a bullet to the heart]"

"Robert Miller: We were told Al Qaeda never use women. Gerry Langdon: Every parasite adopts to its host and evolves. It's only a question of time."
