TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Alan Bennett (who provided the voice of Mole in this movie) previously adapted the novel for the Royal National Theatre in 1990. The original production starred Griff Rhys Jones as Toad, David Bamber as Mole, Richard Briers as Rat, and Michael Bryant as Badger. Bennett also did an audiobook version of the novel for the BBC in 2005.

Sir Michael Palin (the voice of Rat) had a cameo as The Sun in Terry Jones' cinematic adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's story, The Wind in the Willows (1996) (or "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" to those in the U.S.).

Popular Dialogues

"Rat: [Ratty and Moley are both lost in the woods when Mole trips over a boot-scraper, then Ratty finds a doormat] Well? Doesn't that tell you something? Mole: [Walking away grumpily] Doormats tell one nothing. Doormats know their place."

"Toad: Poop, Poop! Oh, poetry of motion! Ohh, the bliss! Ohhh... poop, poop!"
