The film was selected to screen in competition for the Golden Prize at the XI Moscow International Film Festival in 1979.

The name of the coastal holiday resort was the "Hotel Barbazon".

Actress Susan George was cast as the kidnapped woman in this 1978 kidnap-hostage-siege movie based on her earlier lead female role in Sam Peckinpah's classic kidnap-hostage movie Straw Dogs (1971) which she had starred in about seven years earlier in 1971.

According to the Unknown Movies website this movie was a "tax shelter co-production" between the UK and Canada. The picture was filmed in the province of Québec in the latter country.

This picture was promoted as being "a story of today".
