This movie has a very similar premise to "A Haunted House is Not A Home" (Season 5 Episode 7) from "The Flintstones", which is also a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. In the Flintstones, Fred is told he will win his inheritance from Uncle Giggle's if he can stay in his house for 1 night. Over the night, he is hunted by the staff of the house as they want the inheritance. In this movie, Benny is told he will get an inheritance for staying in the house for 48 hours and is hunted by the Butler and his dog. Both of these also follow a similar premise to the movie "House on Haunted Hill"
In the movie, the alley that Top Cat and his gang are located is near Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. In contrast to this, the very same alley is in New York City, in the series.
