TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

A character in the script who was eventually cut, was played by an actor who passed away during the shooting schedule.

The film partially takes place in the winter of 2001. However, it was shot in the fall of 2010.

Carlson encouraged improvisation on set. In the Battery Park scene, Carlson secretly asked Rachel Marie Lewis (Mandie) to ask Kevin Pinassi (Alex) "Are you afraid of dying". The reaction of Pinassi in that scene was genuine and the lines that followed were improvisation.

The main character was partially based on a real life man from writer/director Erik Peter Carlson's hometown. Carlson made a documentary of this individual in 1999, which followed a day in the life of a man who was recently released from a mental institution.

The woman who is seen on stage singing in the jazz club scenes is actress/singer Alix Paige, the actual vocalist of the covers "Angel Eyes", which are present in the film.

Popular Dialogues

"Alex: There's a hole in my heart and color is pouring out. I have forgotten who I am. I'm trying to find something real to hold on to."

"Alex: I wish for a girl to come through those doors, order a cup of coffee and sit with me."
