This started life as a short film to celebrate Vidal Sassoon's 80th birthday. After seeing some of the footage, Sassoon very happily agreed to expand the documentary into a feature film.
Craig Teper, as well as directing the film, also edited it.
Roman Polanski shot parts of Repulsion (1965) in Vidal Sassoon's salon. As a thank you, he asked Sassoon to cut Mia Farrow's hair for his subsequent film, Rosemary's Baby (1968). It became an iconic look. Sassoon is even name-checked in the film.
Vidal Sassoon died of leukemia two years after the release of this film.
