There is no tomato festival celebrated in Puglia. Instead, it is celebrated in the town of Buñol, in Spain, and it is called La Tomatina.
The characters dress as '80s singers for the stag and hen parties. Raf is Adam Ant, Enrico is George Michael, and Mikey is Meat Loaf. Maddie, Taylor and Lil are Madonna, Elena is Whitney Houston, Tiziana is Tina Turner, and additional hen party guests are Boy George and Salt N Pepa.
There were different reports in 2012 indicating that Kylie Minogue, Gemma Arterton and Samantha Barks were in talks for this film but none of them ultimately appeared. A report by The Wrap also indicated that the film would be about a mother and daughter who fall for the same man, but the film was ultimately about two sisters.
