Many of the cast members were incarnations of Power Rangers. Two of them, Sally Martin and Anna Hutchison, who played Wendy's best friends, were actually rangers themselves. Martin (Tory) played Tori in Power Rangers Ninja Storm and Hutchison played Lily in Power Rangers Jungle Fury.
In an interview with Asiance magazine, Brenda Song described how she identified herself with the character who struggles to maintain her heritage and who strove to make a good representation of the Asian heritage fighting for a good life in the USA, Song also praised Disney for the strong Asian cast to which I was giving him the opportunity to work.
