Director Tony Zarindast used stock footage for the car wreck which he had purchased prior to starting work on Werewolf (1995). In an attempt to make the footage match, he had the car painted the matching colour of the stock footage car.
To help keep the film on schedule and on budget, actors R.C. Bates, Joe Estevez, and Richard Lynch performed their own stunts.
Star Jorge Rivero was never paid what he was promised for his work on this film; this is the last non-union American production he has worked on.
Riffed in a ninth season episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Despite being set in America, the film features several foreign accents, with no explanation being given for this. Natalie Burke (whose actress is of Czech descent) speaks with a Eastern European accent, Yuri has a Mexican accent and Paul Niles has an Italian accent. Additionally, the security guard (played by director Tony Zarindast) has a Middle Eastern accent, and the female receptionist at the hospital has an Australian accent.
"Sam the Keeper: Mr. Niles, I just found out that Count Dracula was a faggot! Paul Niles: Huh, Is that so? Sam the Keeper: Hey, you don't have to believe me but that's the facts!"
"Natalie: [totally flat and lifeless] This is absolutely fascinating..."
