  • Story:
Many times, it's fun to see movies about students' lives and their time at school because they frequently contain nostalgic moments. Baba Black Sheep, Rajmohan Aarumugam's first film as a director, attempts hard to be that kind of movie, but the emotional parts in the second half don't really transport us into the world of the characters, and the comical aspects overshadow it. Our attention is kept by the respectable performances of Ayaz, NP, and Ammu Abirami. The pre-climax segment's staging of some moments is intriguing, and the decision to disguise the guy who has suicide thoughts as a joker is really commendable. Other entertaining parts include the end credits. For addressing a subject that hasn't received much attention in the general public, student suicidal tendencies, the director merits praise. But the movie's characters who battle these impulses don't get enough screen time, and as a result, we can't identify with them.
