Its writer/director, Gary Tunnicliffe, started out performing special make-up effects having worked on Waxwork II: Lost in Time, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Hellraiser: Inferno, and Hellraiser: Hellseeker.
Brian Krause, who plays Luke Harrison, auditioned for the lead role to play Aaron Boone in the horror classic Nightbreed (1990). However, Brian was working on Tales from the Crypt at the time of Nightbreed's production and the role went to Craig Sheffer. Though Brian missed out on working with legendary horror director Clive Barker, a year later, he worked with the master of horror Stephen King on the cult-classic horror Sleepwalkers (1991).
