It was sold at auction by Sotheby's in 2017 for $902,000 and has also appeared in Invisible Agent (1942), Mr. Imperium (1951), Follow the Sun (1951), and--most famously--Giant (1956).
This film was a hit at the box office, earning RKO a profit of $342,000 ($4.74M in 2018) according to studio records.
Contemporary reviewers noted the similarities between this film and It Happened One Night (1934).
