Pre-Production funds were raised via crowdfunding site IndieGoGo in 2011, featuring a 3-minute pitch trailer. Their fundraising target was $15,000, but raised over $25,000 in 30 days.
The dialogue of Scott claiming he wrote The Matrix (1999) is based off of a friend the writer Andrew Matthews had who made the same claim back in High School. Even with the proof offered (similar to what Miles says to Scott), the friend still boasts about "his" creation of The Matrix.
In the film, Wayne has a date with "Beth" while Scott's mother's boyfriend is named "Bob". The mother of actor Brock England (who played Wayne) is named Beth while his uncle is named Bob.
"Bob: Are you in to Wizards and shit?"
