Numerous Eugene, Oregon landmarks are recognizable in the film. The two guys share a smoke early on at the summit of Skinner Butte (Ya-po-ah) with the larger mountain Spencer Butte (Champate) in the background. The college-campus scenes are filmed at the University of Oregon.
The opening credits state that this movie was made "Despite the objections of The International Organization of Zerophiliacs". The filmmakers published several articles from the fake organization around the research of Zerophilia; as well as 'ZDate', a fake dating site for Zerophiliacs.
