Verdict
In case you are looking for a gadget that comes at a low price and sports all the basic connectivity options, the HP 1000-1402au (E6F94PA) is worth considering. Its configuration may be outdated but is justified by the price. On the positive side it has crystal clear display, HD webcam and a powerful optical drive.
Decent low end notebook
Display and Design
 
The HP 1000-1402au (E6F94PA) arrives with a 14-inch HD BrightView LED backlit display playing videos and pictures at the usual seen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Its 35.5mm thick package undoubtedly looks too chunky and could bother you while carrying over long distance.
 
Processor and OS
 
On the inside, the notebook is loaded with an AMD Dual Core E1-1500 APU processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. The CPU is supported by a RAM of just 2GB which is not surprising considering it’s a low budget laptop. You can however increase it up to 8GB if you want to experience faster performance. The notebook also has 1MB of cache memory and manages the graphics bit with the help of AMD Radeon HD 7310 graphics processor. It comes preloaded with DOS.
 
Camera, Storage and Multimedia
 
The HP 1000-1402au (E6F94PA) has a HP TrueVision webcam on the front that sports features like capacity to shoot HD videos, f2.0 aperture and enhancement under low light enhancement and has been integrated with a digital microphone. The storage needs are taken care of by the 500GB 5400 rpm SATA hard disk. You can also store files on disks via the SuperMulti DVD burner.
 
The laptop also has two inbuilt Altec Lansing speakers and a keyboard and a multi gesture supported touchpad equipped with on and off buttons.
 
Battery and Connectivity
 
The HP 1000-1402au (E6F94PA) draws the necessary fuel from a 6 cell Li-ion battery and can be connected using features like VGA port, Ethernet 10/100 BASE-T, WLAN, Bluetooth, 3 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, digital media reader and VGA port.
