I'm an engineering student, needed it for work (programming and internet) and entertainment. Bought this model from a local HP Reseller in Kolkata on January 23rd, 2013. Eversince I've not tackled any issues with it. The intel core i3 3110m is quite fast and powerful as an entry level prosessor, the HD 4000 IGPU delivers awesome graphics performance, plus the dedicated Radeon HD 7670m + 1gb vram handles extensive needs of graphics performance while gaming (tried nfs the run, nfs most wanted 2012, cod black ops 2, cod 4 mw, cod mw 2, crysis 2, mafia ii, assassin's creed revealations) and doing other graphics needy tasks. Pros: 1. 3rg Gen intel core i3, consumes less power. 2. Switchable gpu which also helps consuming less power. 3. Radeon hd 7670m rocks. 4. 4gb 1600Mhz ram which is faster than typical 1333Mhz rams. 5. 2 usb 3.0 ports. 1 usb 2.0 port is also there. 6. Descent speakers and stereo sound quality. 7. Liked the multitouch thing... and the keyboard. 8. Doesn't heat up very much even after hours of gaming. But may be thats because its new. So got a cooling stand for it. 9. Batry life is about 3.5 to 4.0 hrs if used in power saver mode. Cons: 1. Glossy palastic everywhere, its a fingerprint magnet. 2. Glossy display panel. Not suitable for outdoor use. 3. Poor build quality of display panel, it bends with very little pressure. 4. Poor display angle, but in this budget cant ask for more. Windos 8 is ok, while its quite fast, it sometymes can be very much annoying while working. My rating 4.5 out of 5.
I bought this laptop on Dec 23,2012. I used it straight for 9 hours without any break.. it doesn't heat up, Hp coolsense is amazing. webcam is average, good performence, i3 3rd gen is faster than i5 2nd gen, i loved its sound clarity...even at full volume it rocksssss.... 1GB radeon graphics has good performence while gaming. windows 8 is also good. If you are a student, i am sure that it will complete all your needs !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so go for it guysssssss...........
