iQOO’s next flagship smartphone is expected to debut later this year. While it’s still quite early for any concrete details, leaks have already started mentioning the iQOO 16. A fresh leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests iQOO is continuing to double down on gaming and multimedia performance with its upcoming iQOO 16. Although the device was not explicitly named in the latest Weibo post, the hardware details closely match earlier rumors surrounding the next-generation flagship.
iQOO 16 specifications (expected)
According to the leak, an engineering prototype powered by Qualcomm’s expected Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset is currently undergoing testing. The prototype reportedly features flagship-grade symmetrical dual speakers from the 1115 series, a combination that could deliver louder output and better stereo separation than the asymmetrical speaker setups commonly found on many premium smartphones.
The leak also mentions a 0916-series X-axis linear motor, indicating a stronger emphasis on tactile feedback during gaming and everyday interactions. Rounding out the package are a dedicated graphics chip aimed at improving gaming performance and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is generally regarded as faster and more reliable than optical in-display sensors. iQOO’s flagship lineup has primarily focused on performance and gaming, so it’s no surprise that the iQOO 16 is getting this hardware.
One of the biggest highlights, however, is the battery. Responding to questions in the comments, Digital Chat Station all but confirmed that the device will pack an enormous 8,500mAh battery. If accurate, it would significantly surpass the battery capacities of most current flagship smartphones, potentially giving the iQOO 16 a major advantage in endurance without sacrificing flagship-class hardware.
The latest information also aligns with previous reports that pointed to a 2K flat display using a new customized panel material, paired with an ultra-high refresh rate to enhance gaming and multimedia experiences. Earlier leaks additionally claimed that iQOO may skip an Ultra model this generation due to rising memory costs, positioning the standard iQOO 16 as the brand’s primary flagship offering. It would also be an upgrade over the iQOO 15’s 7,000mAh battery.
As always, these specifications remain unconfirmed until iQOO makes an official announcement. However, if the leaks prove accurate, the iQOO 16 could appeal to buyers looking for long battery life, premium gaming features, and flagship performance. However, the iQOO 16 may not arrive in India with the company reportedly focusing on mid-range and budget devices.
