Moto G54 5G vs Realme 11 5G performance comparison: uncovering the top-performer under Rs 20,000

The sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone segment is becoming increasingly competitive. Motorola and Realme have recently launched new smartphones in this category, the Moto G54 5G (review) and the Realme 11 5G (review) respectively. Both of these devices are powered by the latest MediaTek chipsets. The Moto G54 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, while the Realme 11 5G features the Dimensity 6100+ SoC at its core.

In this comparison, we have chosen to compare the two smartphones to determine which one delivers superior performance. Here are the core specs of these SoCs, followed by a look at how they fare in benchmarks and gaming.

Geekbench v6

The Geekbench test shows the Dimensity 7020-powered Moto G54 5G taking the lead with a single-core score of 919 and a multi-core score of 2,309. In contrast, the Realme 11 5G rocking the Dimensity 6100+ achieved slightly lower scores of 732 in the single-core test and 1,936 in the multi-core test. Consequently, this suggests that the Moto G54 can complete specific tasks a bit faster than the Realme 11 5G.

AnTuTu v10

AnTuTu also reveals the Realme 11 5G trailing behind marginally, with an overall score of 4,33,321, compared to the Moto G54 5G’s 4,58,746 points. The Motorola smartphone outperforms its counterpart in almost every department except MEM. However, since the difference in score is only marginal, it’s unlikely that users will notice a significant real-world difference between the two devices.

CPU Throttle

The Realme 11 5G comfortably outperforms the Moto G54 5G in the CPU Throttle test. The Realme smartphone experiences a marginal drop (5 percent to be exact) from its peak performance while handling 50 threads for half an hour. In contrast, the Moto G54 5G’s performance drops significantly to 66 percent in a similar task. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Realme 11 5G will be more capable of sustaining performance under heavy loads compared to the Motorola smartphone.

Gaming

Gaming may not be the forte of these devices, but they manage to run games like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) considerably well. I played BGMI on Moto G54 5G and Realme 11 5G for 30 minutes each, using HD graphics and High frame rates. I did not experience any frame drops or significant lag while playing the game on these devices. However, it is worth mentioning the Moto G54 5G did exhibit some thermal issues. Although it didn’t become uncomfortably warm, there was a noticeable spike in the smartphone’s temperature while gaming on this device.

The Realme 11 5G, on the other hand, remained relatively cool during gaming. Furthermore, based on my personal experience, the Realme smartphone demonstrated a marginally faster app launch time compared to the Motorola smartphone. This is contrary to the benchmarking scores.

Verdict

The Moto G54 5G and Realme 11 5G both bring their strengths to the forefront in this comparison. The Motorola smartphone seems a tad better in CPU-intensive tasks and benchmark scores (albeit just marginally), whereas the Realme 11 5G delivers better-sustained performance during demanding tasks and offers cooler gaming experiences. This makes it challenging to declare an outright winner here. So, the choice between these two devices may come down to your specific usage patterns, whether it’s demanding tasks or gaming.

Both phones offer competitive value, and your preference should align with your priorities. If you are a heavy user, the Realme 11 5G will be a better fit for your needs as it comes with better thermal management than its counterpart. Conversely, if you primarily use your phone for everyday tasks, the Moto G54 5G should serve you well.
