Motorola’s first book-style foldable leaks along with the company’s full 2026 lineup of phones

Highlights
  • A Motorola Razr Fold might launch later this year.
  • It could be showcased at CES this week.
  • A Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ is also being speculated to launch this year.

Motorola seems ready to step into the heavy (pun not intended) foldables league. After spending the last few years sharpening its clamshell Razr phones, the company is now reportedly gearing up to launch its first book-style foldable in 2026. That would put Motorola head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series in a space it has stayed away from until now.

Hints of a larger foldable from Motorola surfaced a few weeks ago with the company’s CES invite in the shape of a book, but a fresh leak from tipster Evan Blass makes things feel more concrete. The leak points to an official-looking name for the device ‘Motorola Razr Fold’, even though a full launch does not appear to be happening immediately and is mentioned for “later this year”. Motorola is expected to preview the phone at Lenovo’s Smarter AI for All CES 2026 event on January 6th in Las Vegas. While the event will mainly focus on laptops and AI, Motorola could show off its new foldable form factor.

Motorola Razr Fold

This is a natural progression for Motorola. In 2025, the brand took a very aggressive approach with foldables, launching three Razr models at prices that undercut Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip lineup. That strategy helped Motorola stand out and attract buyers who liked the idea of a foldable but did not want to spend top-tier money. A book-style foldable is an obvious next step, especially for users who want a tablet-like experience in their pocket at a friendlier price.

Blass hasn’t stopped at this. Going further, he also gives us a broader picture of Motorola’s 2026 plans. By digging into Lenovo’s SmartFind database, Blass uncovered a list of upcoming Motorola devices. According to that list, Motorola will once again roll out at least three Razr foldables next year: the Razr (2026), Razr+ (2026), and Razr Ultra (2026). There are also a few mystery entries, and one of them is widely believed to be the book-style foldable, which may be unveiled tomorrow.

Outside of foldables, Motorola’s lineup stays familiar. A new Signature flagship has been teased to be unveiled for the Indian market on January 7th. On the more affordable side, the Moto G Power (2026) has already launched, sticking to its tried-and-tested formula of big batteries and long battery life. The Moto G Stylus (2026) is also on the roadmap, with a possible launch around April. Then there is the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+, which is interesting because there was no Fusion+ in the Edge 60 series.

For Motorola fans, it seems to be an exciting year with the book-style foldable launch. If Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold phones feel too expensive, it might be worth waiting. Motorola’s first book-style foldable could finally give people a real alternative, and if the brand sticks to its recent pricing strategy, it could make foldables feel a lot more approachable in 2026.
