Motorola has unveiled the latest addition to its Edge lineup in North America, introducing the Motorola Edge (2026) as a feature-packed upper mid-range smartphone in a compact form factor. While the branding is specific to the US market, the Motorola Edge (2026) could eventually arrive in markets like India under a different name, potentially as the Motorola Edge 70 Neo, since the Neo lineup has a compact display among its siblings.

In the US, the Motorola Edge (2026) will go on sale from June 11th with a retail price of $599.99 (Rs 57,300 approx). Pricing will vary depending on the market. The device will be offered in a distinctive Pantone Martini Olive finish, featuring an earthy green-gold tone and a textured twill-inspired rear panel.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7450 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The processor is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of storage. The smartphone should be able to handle regular to moderate tasks with no hiccups. The Edge (2026) ships with Android 16 out of the box and comes with a commitment of three major Android OS upgrades.
The camera setup is one of the more ambitious offerings in this price segment. The primary sensor is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 unit with OIS and4K video recording. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera that doubles as a macro shooter and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Selfie duties are handled by a 50MP front-facing camera. With a telephoto lens, the Edge (2026) not only offers a versatile camera setup but also gets an advantage in zoom photography.
Motorola is also leaning heavily on AI-assisted photography. Features such as the Photo Enhancement Engine and Action Shot are designed to improve image quality and help capture moving subjects with greater clarity, areas where many midrange smartphones traditionally struggle.

The Edge (2026) carries both IP68 and IP69 certifications, protecting it against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards for drop and shock resistance. The handset also comes with stereo speakers featuring Dolby Atmos and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
For users prioritising camera versatility, compact design, and clean Android software, the Motorola Edge (2026) appears to be a balanced mid-range offering. The inclusion of a dedicated telephoto camera and wireless charging is particularly noteworthy, as both features are usually available in more premium segments. If you currently own an older Edge series smartphone, the camera and display upgrades might be compelling. However, if you’re not in a rush, consider waiting for initial reviews.
