Now, the smartphone has appeared on Geekbench givng us an idea of what to expect from the Edge 70 Pro+’s performance.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Geekbench details

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ has appeared on Geekbench with the MediaTek MT6899 chipset, which is known to be the Dimensity 8400. chipset. It is a 4nm octa-core processor that powers mid-range smartphones. On Geekbench, the Edge 70 Pro+ has scored 1,722 in single-core and 5,623 in multi-core tests, respectively. Interestingly, the chipset used here is different from the Edge 70 Pro’s Dimensity 8500 Extreme, which has higher clock speeds than the Dimensity 8400.

This would mean that the Edge 70 Pro+ may not offer the same or better performance levels than the Edge 70 Pro. The difference shouldn’t be too noticeable, but the chipset choice is interesting as the Edge 70 Pro+ would be more expensive.

The Geekbench listing also reveals that the Edge 70 Pro+ features 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+: what we know so far

The chipset may be a compromise, but the Edge 70 Pro+ will come with the best camera hardware in the lineup. The smartphone is confirmed to house a 50MP periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom, which would be the biggest upgrade over the Edge 70 Pro. It also gives the Edge 70 Pro+ an advantage in zoom photography, particularly for shooting wildlife and for detailed portraits.

The main camera is a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with 3.5 degrees optical image stabilisation. Motorola is also adding features for frame stabilisation, night photography, and a 50x AI-powered super zoom pro.

The Edge 70 Pro+ will be available in three Pantone finishes: Pantone Chicory Coffee with a sculpted wood finish, Pantone Stormy Sea with a twill-inspired texture, and Pantone Zinfandel with a satin-luxe finish. An additional button on the left side is also visible, but its functionality hasn’t been revealed yet. This could act as a shortcut button for certain features or AI-related features.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up to be a premium mid-ranger with a focus on photography and design. It would be a good pick for those who want an upper mid-range Motorola phone with a versatile camera setup, good performance, and a premium design. If you’re currently using an old Motorola phone, the Edge 70 Pro+ might be a notable upgrade. Since the launch is only a week away, we should know more details soon.
