Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro storage and colour options leak ahead of impending launch
Nothing has begun teasing its upcoming Phone (4a) series, expected to launch as early as next month, and a new leak has shed light on storage variants and colour options for both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. While official specifications remain limited, CEO Carl Pei has already indicated that the new models will bring notable improvements over last year’s Phone (3a) lineup, since the company isn’t launching a flagship this year.
According to tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro will be available in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage configurations. Nothing has also confirmed the use of UFS 3.1 storage for the upcoming devices, though it is not yet clear whether both models will benefit from the faster standard. While UFS 3.1 is not new, it remains a practical upgrade in the midrange segment, where many devices still ship with slower storage.

Colour options appear to be more restrained than earlier teasers suggested. The Phone (4a) is tipped to arrive in Black and White, while the Phone (4a) Pro may be offered in Black and Silver. If accurate, this would continue Nothing’s minimalist aesthetic, which has relied on monochrome finishes and transparent design elements to stand out rather than bright colours.
The Phone (4a) series is rumoured to use Snapdragon 7-series chipsets, placing it firmly in the midrange category. The Pro model is also expected to include a 5,080mAh battery, a slight increase over the 5,000mAh units in the Phone (3a) series. More details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks as the launch approaches.
For context, the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro launched in March 2025 with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processors, 120Hz displays, 50MP triple-camera systems, and 50W fast charging. The Pro model added a periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a higher-resolution front camera. Pricing started at around Rs 24,999 for the Phone (3a) and Rs 29,999 for the Pro variant, placing them directly against devices such as the Redmi Note Pro series, Realme Narzo Pro models, and Samsung’s Galaxy A3x lineup. Those rivals often offered similar performance, but Nothing stood out through its transparent design, Glyph lighting interface, and a relatively clean Android experience.
If the leaked configurations for the Phone (4a) series are accurate, Nothing appears to be continuing the same approach. The expected Snapdragon 7-series chips and modest battery increase suggest incremental upgrades rather than a major performance jump. That means the decision between the (4a) and (4a) Pro may again hinge on camera hardware, battery size, and pricing. If Nothing keeps the starting price close to the Rs 25,000 – Rs 30,000 range, the phones could remain competitive for buyers who want a distinctive design and uncluttered software. A noticeable price increase, however, would put them in direct competition with devices offering larger batteries, faster charging, or newer silicon in the same bracket.
