What are NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops designed for?

NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops are designed for people who want to run AI tools, create content and play games on one device. They combine RTX graphics with up to 128GB of unified memory, allowing users to run supported AI models locally for tasks such as writing, summarising and coding, instead of relying entirely on cloud services. They also support creative apps such as Photoshop, Premiere and Blender, along with NVIDIA’s CUDA tools for developers.

Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Ultra is one example of these laptops. It starts at $2,599.99 in the US, with higher-end configurations costing up to $3,699.99. Pre-orders opened on October 16, but Microsoft has not announced an India price or launch date. Its premium metal design, high-resolution display and large trackpad put it in the same category as Apple’s MacBook Pro, which starts at Rs 2,39,900 in India, with the 14-inch M5 Pro model starting at Rs 2,49,900.

The key difference is the hardware, as the Surface Laptop Ultra combines an ARM-based NVIDIA Grace processor with a Blackwell RTX graphics chip and up to 128GB of shared memory. NVIDIA says the system can run AI models with up to 120 billion parameters locally. It also supports NVIDIA’s CUDA and TensorRT tools, which can help developers and creators handle demanding workloads without always needing a separate desktop.

Gaming is another potential advantage over many ARM-based laptops, including Snapdragon-powered Windows machines and Apple MacBooks. RTX Spark laptops support NVIDIA’s gaming technologies and hundreds of compatible games, making them an option worth buying for users who want AI tools, creative software and gaming in one machine. However, actual performance and battery life will depend on each laptop’s hardware and how it handles these workloads.

As a launch offer, eligible buyers who are new to Perplexity can claim two months of Perplexity Pro and 3,000 bonus credits at no cost for a limited time. They must download the Perplexity Windows app on an eligible RTX Spark laptop and enter the code PERPLEXITYRTX in Settings.
