Following its appearance on Google’s Supported Devices list, we now have our first purported look at the OnePlus Ace 7 series, comprising the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro. Set to launch in China soon, the Ace 7 series will sit below the recently launched OnePlus 16, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while offering similar performance features, including an advanced high-refresh-rate display, top-notch cooling, and more. The series will succeed the Ace 6 series, with the Ace 6T launched in India as the OnePlus 15R.

Over the weekend, an image of two OnePlus phones circulated online, particularly on X. Said to be published by OnePlus China, the phones in the image feature two distinct finishes: one with an orange-and-white gradient and another with a blue-and-white gradient. Both smartphones feature a OnePlus 16-like squarish camera module in the top-left corner, and it appears packed with hardware.
According to the popular tipster, Debayan Roy, aka @Gadgetsdata on X, the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The recently unveiled OnePlus 16 also gets similar display specifications; however, the Ace 7 series will likely use a more affordable panel to justify the lower price. Also, since the OnePlus 16 does, the Ace 7 series could enable 165Hz refresh rates throughout the system.
Turning to performance hardware, the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the standard Ace 7 may use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V, a scaled-down version of the 8 Elite Gen 5. Paired with a cooling fan, these devices should let gamers run heavy titles at peak refresh rates for long periods while significantly minimising thermal throttling. In hindsight, with the addition of fans, these devices not only stand out from the OnePlus 16 but also deliver thermally efficient performance.
The phones could pack a 9,000mAh battery and support 90W or 100W fast charging. The key differentiator could be the cameras: the standard Ace 7 could get a 200MP primary camera with a 16MP selfie shooter, while the Ace 7 Pro could add a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Both phones could benefit from OPPO’s LUMO imaging pipeline to output accurate colours with well-balanced highlights.
As for the OnePlus Ace 7 series’ India launch, previous reports claim that the Ace 7 Pro could launch under Realme. Whether it’ll be positioned as a GT or Neo series smartphone, that remains to be seen. Either way, the Ace 7 is shaping up to be a gamer’s paradise, with hardware that puts heavy emphasis on strong gaming performance. Paired with ColorOS 17, which we recently did a deep dive on, the smartphones should deliver a fluid, reliable day-to-day experience.
