OnePlus could be preparing another performance-focused flagship for its Ace lineup. This could be the OnePlus Ace 7, which is expected to offer hardware such as a 185Hz refresh rate, a 200MP camera, and more. If accurate, it would be the first phone from the Ace 7 series, succeeding the current Ace 6 lineup. OnePlus offers dedicated performance and gaming hardware as part of its Ace series.
OnePlus Ace 7 specifications
A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed specifications of a OnePlus engineering prototype powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with the device expected to launch as the OnePlus Ace 7. According to the leak, the phone will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an unusually high 185Hz refresh rate, which means smoother graphics for gaming. The prototype is also said to include an active cooling fan, pointing towards a gaming-focused design rather than a conventional flagship.
The Ace 7 could be offered with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Camera hardware is also expected to be substantial, with a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP secondary camera on the rear, while selfies could be handled by a 16MP front camera. OnePlus has yet to reveal the battery specifications. However, the Ace 6 featured a 7,800mAh battery, so an 8,000mAh-plus capacity is possible for its successor, although this remains speculation.
The Ace 7 is expected to run Android 17 with ColorOS 17 and could sit alongside the upcoming Ace 7T. OnePlus is reportedly developing the latter with the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, while the Ace 7 is expected to use last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
If these specifications materialise, the Ace 7 could appeal strongly to mobile gamers and performance enthusiasts, particularly with its high-refresh-rate screen and active cooling. If you’re on an Ace 5, the jump to 185Hz and Elite Gen 5 would be substantial, but Ace 6 users might find the upgrade less critical unless active cooling is a must-have. However, buyers should wait for official confirmation of the battery, charging speeds, pricing, and global availability before considering it over the company’s mainstream flagship.
