Shortly after teasing the OnePlus Turbo 6X series, the company has now officially revealed the launch date. The lineup will feature two phones: the OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro. Both phones are launching as performance- and battery-focused mid-range devices, serving as an affordable alternative to the existing Turbo 6 in China. OnePlus has also revealed key details about the Pro model, alongside the launch date and design of the two phones.
The OnePlus Turbo 6X series is confirmed to launch in China on June 10th, which is just two days from now. The launch event is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm in China, which corresponds to 12:00 pm IST for viewers in India. For now, the Turbo 6X series is arriving only in China with no word on a global release yet.
The teaser image for the OnePlus Turbo 6X series shows the design of both phones. The Turbo 6X Pro has a square-shaped camera module, similar to the flagship OnePlus 15 series. The regular Turbo 6X has a vertically-aligned camera design, the same as the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite. The Pro model is also seen in a bright orange colour.
The Turbo 6X Pro is confirmed to feature a 1.5K Samsung AMOLED display with full-brightness DC dimming technology. The handset is also getting IP66, IP68, and IP69-rated dust and water resistance, along with seven military-grade durability. The Turbo 6X Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 7400 Super chipset, which should deliver capable mid-range performance. The handset will compete with mid-range rivals from brands like Vivo, Realme, and Xiaomi.
The smartphone will launch with an 8,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging support. The battery capacity will be the Turbo 6X Pro’s highlight here, and it should comfortably deliver at least two days of power on regular to moderate usage. Large battery capacities have been a growing trend, especially in the mid-range segment. The smartphone will launch with ColorOS 16 out of the box. It will be available in 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB variants, and in Orange and Black colours.
OnePlus Turbo 6X, on the other hand, will come with an LCD display, and a sizeable 7,000mAh battery. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chipset, suggesting dependable performance in the affordable mid-range segment.
Based on the details so far, the OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro seems to be a good fit for those who want a performance-focused mid-range phone with a large battery. If you’re currently using an older mid-ranger, the Turbo 6X Pro’s 8000mAh could be a significant upgrade, especially if battery life is your top priority. The Turbo 6X would be the affordable alternative with a slightly smaller battery and LCD screen. We should still wait for official details and price before coming to a buying decision.
