OPPO has launched the OPPO A6 Pro 5G in India, succeeding last year’s A5 Pro 5G. This is a phone meant for people who care about battery life, charging speed, and basic durability, not cutting-edge specs or fancy extras.
The standout feature of the A6 Pro 5G is its battery. The phone packs a 7,000mAh cell, and OPPO claims it can last up to 40 days on standby. In everyday use, that should easily cover a full day and, for lighter users, possibly stretch into the next. The phone also supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, which OPPO says can take it from zero to full in about 64 minutes. That makes the large battery far more practical than it sounds on paper.
The display is a large 6.75-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The resolution is HD+, which is a compromise at this price, but the high refresh rate should keep scrolling and animations smooth. OPPO also says the screen can hit over 1,100 nits of brightness, which should help when using the phone outdoors. This is still an LCD screen though, so buyers expecting AMOLED-level contrast will need to keep expectations in check.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. This setup is aimed at everyday tasks like calls, messaging, social media, video streaming, and light gaming. It is not built for heavy gaming or power users, but it should feel stable and responsive for most people. The phone runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 out of the box.
Cameras are straightforward. The A6 Pro 5G has a 50MP main rear camera with a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording is limited to 1080p. This setup is fine for casual photos and everyday use, but it is not meant to compete with camera-focussed phones.
OPPO has also added an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, which is one of the advantages you get over some competitors in the segment, but not all. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and standard connectivity options including 5G.
The price starts at Rs 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 23,999 for the 256GB version. Bank offers can reduce the price by up to Rs 2,000. The phone is available on OPPO’s online store in Aurora Gold and Cappuccino Brown.
Against rivals like the Vivo Y400, iQOO Z10, and Nothing Phone 3a Lite, the OPPO A6 Pro 5G takes a simple approach. It puts battery life, fast charging, and water resistance ahead of display sharpness or camera features. If long battery life matters more to you than specs on paper, this phone is worth a look. If not, there are plenty of alternatives to compare at this price.
