“Apart from the overly-hyped 50-megapixel shot using a 13-megapixel sensor, the Find 7 has a pretty good camera to flaunt”
Oppo, as an Android smartphone brand, offered some nice features with a powerful yet innovative camera on the Oppo N1 (review) which could swivel from back to front, offering a high resolution camera to the users for high-definition video calling and detail-rich selfies. With its latest flagship the Oppo Find 7, the manufacturer has offered a decent, 13-megapixel camera inside a slim smartphone. The quality of the images captured are good in most conditions, except for the hyped feature of capturing 50-megapixel shots from a 13-megapixel camera, or the so-called ultra HD resolution still. Well just to clear out all the confusion, here we have the camera samples from the Oppo Find 7, raw and unedited, so that you can decide for yourself as to what the actual worth of the camera is. For your benefit, we have uploaded the full resolution images, so click on the images to check them out in full resolution.

Long Shot
The quality offered by the camera is nice and carries a lot of detail, which is evident with this long shot captured as part of our Oppo Find 7 camera test… as even the distant objects can be seen clearly when zoomed in.
Close up
Close-up shots offer good contrast and focus across this Oppo Find 7 camera sample, and not just at the center of the image.
Close up (zoomed in)
The level of focus and sharpness becomes even clearer when the image is zoomed, the contrast offered by the image gives great results.
Front camera shot
While the main camera might be quite capable, the Find 7’s front facing camera offers average results with washed-out colours.
Fast motion capture
Having a fast shutter can avoid having trails on fast moving objects and this is exactly what the Oppo Find 7 camera offers, as can be seen in this picture of traffic captured at stock settings.
Ultra HD (50-megapixel shot)
As one of its highlight features, the Ultra HD shot of the Find 7 fails to impress us as the regular shot offers better overall quality and sharpness.
Detailed Comparison between regular and Ultra HD shots (zoomed in 10x)
A quick comparison between a regular shot and the Ultra HD shot from the Oppo Find 7 further substantiates the point.
HDR Off
Simple comparison between the auto and the HDR modes to evaluate the Oppo Find 7’s camera performance.
HDR On
The HDR mode captures both the high and the lower end of the contrast without affecting the colours or making the image look artificial.
Indoor low light
Indoor shots are mostly captured with ample brightness all thanks to the higher aperture, however the colour accuracy suffers and the image is grainy when zoomed in.
Indoor shot with flash
The LED flash is a boon for the camera on the Oppo Find 7 with offering a great deal of colour variance and lot of depth in addition to illuminating the subject.
Overall, the camera of Oppo Find 7 impresses quite a bit, but the Ultra HD shot disappoints as in reality it turns out to be hazier than the regular image shot in auto.
