OPPO recently confirmed that the Find X9s is coming to India soon. The announcement was made during the launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset in India. The OPPO Find X9s will ship with this new 3nm chipset. Earlier rumours and leaks suggested a compact form factor for the Find X9s with a 6.3-inch display, but a new report suggests that may not be the case. In fact, the Find X9s may come in the same size as the Find X9, which has a 6.59-inch display.
According to a report by Smartprix, the OPPO Find X9s will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is different from the Find X9s expected to launch in China soon, which is rumoured to feature a compact 6.3-inch display. While a 6.59-inch screen isn’t too big, the Find X9s still misses its chance to be a true compact flagship. This might be disappointing to some fans who were expecting the Find X9s in a smaller form factor.
The Find X9s is tipped to feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom at the back, and a 32MP front camera. The setup is similar to that of the Find X9, suggesting more or less the same camera experience. It could house a large 7,025mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. The Find X9 also offers the same battery but with 80W fast charging. Wireless charging is missing, though, on the Find X9s, which is available on the X9.
OPPO is reportedly planning to launch the Find X9s in India by Q2 this year, and in two configurations of 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The smartphone will most likely launch with Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box.
Based on the leaked details, the OPPO Find X9s is closely similar to the Find X9, with the chipset and fast charging being the main differentiating factors. It might launch as an affordable alternative to the Find X9, but there’s no confirmation on that yet. Still, the Find X9s can be a good option for people looking to upgrade to an OPPO flagship and who have been impressed with the Find X9 series. With the Find X9s, OPPO could be further strengthening it flagship offerings in India.
If the Find X9s does launch at a lower price, then it could be an affordable alternative to the Find X9 lineup. Since the phone is already confirmed to launch in India, it’s advised to wait for official confirmation if you’re planning to buy the Find X9 or an Android flagship.
