POCO has been readying to refresh its mid-range X-series in India for a while now and the launch is inching closer. A new Flipkart microsite has gone live carrying the tagline “Stay tuned for neXt,” with the ‘X’ highlighted in yellow. A few days earlier, the brand had posted a teaser on X with emphasis on the ‘X’ in the word “neXt” in its marketing message. Even though the phones haven’t been announced publicly, the messaging indicates it’s hinting at the POCO X8 Pro series. Further, the Flipkart microsite URL includes the phrasing “Coming Soon March 26,” which strongly suggests that’s when the launch is planned.
The design shown in the microsite and teasers lines up with what’s expected from the POCO X8 Pro series. The device in the teaser has a flat back with a vertically stacked dual-camera setup inside a pill-shaped module. The two lenses sit slightly raised with metallic rings around them, and a circular LED flash is placed alongside. The POCO logo is positioned at the bottom left. A teaser posted by POCO also shows a pill-shaped camera island with dual sensors.
The design is very close to the Redmi Turbo 5, which debuted in China earlier this year along with the Turbo 5 Max. POCO has often brought Redmi hardware to India under its own branding, tweaking software and pricing to fit its audience. If that’s the case again, the X8 Pro may largely mirror the Turbo 5 in terms of core specifications.
Leaked retail box images shared by tipster Paras Guglani a couple of days ago suggest the POCO X8 Pro could run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. The box also mentions a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera with OIS, and a 6,500mAh battery paired with 100W charging. The phone has already appeared on Geekbench and certification platforms including BIS and SDPPI, which means launch preparations are in the final stages.
There’s also talk of a POCO X8 Pro Max variant. Tipster Abhishek Yadav previously shared an alleged AnTuTu listing pointing to a Dimensity 9500s chipset, similar to the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The benchmark score looked slightly higher, though the devices were tested on different AnTuTu versions, so it’s not a straight comparison. This model, too, has surfaced on Indian certification listings.
If the leaked details are accurate, the POCO X8 Pro will land in a segment where brands like iQOO, Realme and OnePlus offer high-refresh AMOLED panels and fast charging. On paper, a 6,500mAh battery with 100W charging sounds competitive, especially for users who care more about gaming and battery endurance than camera experimentation.
For buyers in the Rs 30,000 – Rs 35,000 range, the decision will depend on performance consistency, battery life and pricing. If POCO prices the X8 Pro aggressively, which has typically been its play with the X-series, it could appeal to users who want strong hardware without stretching into premium territory. If pricing creeps up, it will have to compete directly with established alternatives offering similar displays and charging speeds.
Flipkart is also teasing the POCO C85x 5G alongside this launch. The standard POCO C85 5G, introduced in December 2025 with a Dimensity 6300 chip, a 50MP dual rear camera and a 6,000mAh battery, targeted budget buyers. The C85x 5G is expected to continue in that lower price bracket.
