Tecno has introduced a new Plasma Orange colour option for the POVA 8 5G (review) in India, giving the phone a flashier colourway. The new finish joins the phone’s existing design features, including the POVA’s triangle camera module and the rear Alive Matrix Display.
The new colour targets younger users who may want a more distinctive-looking phone, while the rest of the POVA 8 5G remains unchanged.

The POVA 8 5G Plasma Orange costs Rs 29,999 in India and goes on sale through retail stores across the country. Tecno is also offering up to Rs 2,000 instant cashback on credit and debit card transactions. The new colour carries the same starting price as the existing POVA 8 5G.
The Plasma Orange variant keeps the same hardware as the other POVA 8 5G models. It features a 6.76-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate, along with the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. The phone comes with up to 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The phone also packs an 8,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, which remains one of its main highlights. The large battery should help users get through longer periods of gaming, streaming and general use without charging as often.
The Alive Matrix Display remains the standout design feature. The rear screen can show notifications, battery information and timers, and it can also work as an ambient clock when users place the phone face-down.
For photography, the POVA 8 5G uses a 50MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera. Tecno also includes AI-powered camera features and modes for portraits and night photography.
The new colour variant gives potential buyers another way to personalise the POVA 8 5G. The phone already has a distinctive design with its rear display, and the brighter orange finish makes that approach stand out even more.
Tecno has also kept the same starting price, so buyers do not have to pay extra for the Plasma Orange finish. For anyone considering the POVA 8 5G, it simply adds another design option to the existing lineup.
The POVA 8 targets buyers who like the Nothing-style rear display concept but want to spend less. At around Rs 30,000, it faces competition from phones such as the POCO X8 5G, which offers a larger 9,000mAh battery and an AMOLED display. However, the POVA 8 has a more distinctive design, making it a better fit for buyers who value looks and the rear display experience.
