Realme Buds Clip launched in India: clip-style TWS with open-ear design, 36-hour battery

Realme has expanded its audio lineup in India with the launch of the Realme Buds Clip, marking the brand’s entry into the emerging clip-style wireless earphones category. The new TWS was launched alongside the Realme P4 Power. Unlike conventional in-ear or stem-based earbuds, clip-style designs sit around the outer ear instead of sealing the ear canal, offering a lighter, pressure-free listening experience. This design approach seems to be gaining popularity globally, especially among young users. Sony also launched its first pair of clip-on wireless earbuds, the LinkBuds Clip, earlier this month, suggesting a growing popularity for this unique and quirky design.

The Realme Buds Clip earbuds are shaped to follow the natural curve of the human auricle and use a titanium-fit memory metal structure to ensure a secure yet breathable fit, according to the brand. Each earbud weighs just 5.3g, and they have a minimalist frosted-texture finish.

In terms of audio performance, the Realme Buds Clip features an 11mm dual-driver system paired with the company’s NextBass algorithm for fuller sound output, deeper bass, and clear vocals for music, videos, and voice calls. To address the open-ear nature of clip-style earbuds, Realme has added Directional Sound-Leap Technology, which focuses sound toward the ear while reducing leakage. The earbuds also support 3D Spatial Audio for a more immersive listening experience across compatible content.

The Buds Clip comes with AI ENC call noise cancellation, AI Voice Assistant integration powered by Gemini, Dual-Device Connection 2.0, and a 45ms low-latency mode aimed at mobile gamers. Additional features include intuitive tap controls, offline location finding, and IP55 dust and water resistance, making them suitable for outdoor runs and workouts. Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours with the charging case.

Clip-style earbuds are steadily gaining traction, with major audio brands such as Bose and Sony also experimenting with similar designs. This growing category offers an alternative for users who want to move beyond conventional in-ear wireless earbuds, especially those seeking improved long-wear comfort. The clip-on form factor is expected to reduce ear fatigue during extended listening sessions by avoiding constant pressure inside the ear canal. How well the Realme Buds Clip delivers on audio quality and comfort will become clearer once the product is tested in real-world conditions.

For now, the Buds Clip appears well-suited for students, commuters, and fitness enthusiasts who value comfort and extended wear. However, users who prioritise active noise cancellation or strong bass may still find traditional in-ear earbuds a better fit. The Realme Buds Clip will be available in Gold and Grey colour options starting 5th February from 12 noon onwards, priced at Rs 5,499, across leading online and offline retail channels in India.
