Redmi 15C launches in India with 6,000mAh battery, 120Hz display, and a large 6.9-inch display
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 15C in India, the latest addition to its popular budget lineup. The new model introduces notable upgrades over last year’s Redmi 14C, along with some quality-of-life features designed for long-term users, all while competing in an increasingly crowded sub-Rs 12,000 segment.
What’s new on the Redmi 15C?
The Redmi 15C sports a 6.9-inch HD+ 120Hz AdaptiveSync display with a notch, a slightly bigger screen than the Redmi 14C’s 6.88-inch display. Despite the large screen, Xiaomi claims the phone maintains single-handed usability thanks to its 7.99mm slim frame and ergonomic design.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of virtual RAM support. Xiaomi is also leaning into AI with Gemini integration and Circle to Search, features that were missing from the 14C. The phone runs HyperOS 2 out of the box, with two more OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates. Redmi 15C also comes with IP64 dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 20 percent louder speakers, and 1TB expandable storage.
The headline upgrade is the massive 6,000mAh battery with a 33W in-box charger, and 10W reverse charging. Xiaomi claims 2.2 days of usage, and says the battery will retain 80–85 percent health even after 4 years or roughly 1,000 charge cycles. We’re yet to test the phone’s battery, but this setup should comfortably last an entire day with moderate usage. This is also a big jump from the Redmi 15C’s 5,160mAh battery and 18W fast charging support.
The phone features a 50MP AI dual camera system, while the front uses an 8MP selfie shooter. This is largely similar to the Redmi 14C’s camera setup, so photography enthusiasts shouldn’t expect a dramatic leap.
The Redmi 15C has been launched at a starting price of Rs 12,499 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. This is an increase compared to its predecessor, the Redmi 14C, which launched at Rs 9,999. The smartphone also has a notched display, which might feel dated to some users. Otherwise, you’re getting a large fluid display with loud speakers, making it a great choice for entertainment, along with a reliable battery backup. Redmi 15C will be available to purchase from December 11th, and in three colours: Dusk Purple, Moonlight Blue, and Midnight Black. It comes in two more variants: 6GB + 128GB for Rs 13,999, and 8GB + 128GB for Rs 15,499.
