Redmi Turbo 6 series tipped with Dimensity 8 and 9 series chipsets, 10,000mAh battery
Redmi appears to be preparing its next generation of performance-focused smartphones. According to a new leak from tipster Smart Pikachu, the upcoming Redmi Turbo 6 series could bring notable upgrades over the current Turbo 5 lineup, including larger displays, next-generation MediaTek chipsets and a huge 10,000mAh battery.
Like the Redmi Turbo 5 series, the new lineup is expected to include two models: the standard Redmi Turbo 6 and the higher-end Redmi Turbo 6 Max. While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed any details, the leak suggests the company is continuing its focus on offering flagship-grade performance at relatively aggressive prices.

Redmi Turbo 6 (standard model)
The standard Redmi Turbo 6 is tipped to feature a 7-inch display and a massive 10,000mAh battery. A 7-inch screen sounds large by current standards but Redmi is expected to debut it on the Redmi Note 17 in China later today, and it could set a new benchmark. Under the hood, the Turbo 6 is expected to use an upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 8-series chipset, believed to be the Dimensity 8600 built on TSMC’s 3nm process.
If the leak proves accurate, the chip could offer better performance and power efficiency than the Dimensity 8500 Ultra found in the current Redmi Turbo 5. Interestingly, the same processor is also rumoured to power the Honor Power 3, which is said to feature an even larger 12,000mAh battery. OnePlus and Realme have been leading with capacities in India and China with the latter’s phones even crossing the 10,000mAh mark, so an upgrade is essential to keep up with the competition.
Redmi Turbo 6 Max (premium model)
The Redmi Turbo 6 Max is expected to be the more premium offering in the lineup. It is tipped to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9-series processor, likely the unannounced Dimensity 9600s, although the chipset name hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Previous reports have also claimed the phone will sport a 2K display, while the latest leak adds an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, a metal middle frame and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance. Combined with the reported 10,000mAh battery, these upgrades could position it as a direct successor to the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which already packs a Dimensity 9500s chipset, a 9,000mAh battery and a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display.
Expected launch and global rebranding
The Redmi Turbo 6 Max is expected to launch in China in January 2027, although it remains unclear whether the standard Redmi Turbo 6 will debut alongside it. Xiaomi has yet to officially announce the series. If the company’s previous branding strategy continues, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max is expected to make its global debut under the POCO branding, with reports pointing to a possible launch as the POCO X9 Pro Max. However, this year we saw the Redmi Turbo series make its debut in India with the Redmi Turbo 5, so an unchanged global release cannot be ruled out.
While the leaked specifications are promising, buyers may want to wait for official announcements, especially around chipset details, display resolution and battery capacity. If Xiaomi retains the Turbo series’ value positioning, the new phones could become strong options for users prioritising gaming performance and long battery life.
