Samsung’s next A-series phone has surfaced early. A Geekbench listing of the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G has been spotted which shows the phone is in testing, alongside details of its chipset, RAM, and software. Combined with earlier certification sightings, it suggests the device may not be far from launch in global markets.
Samsung Galaxy A27 specifications on Geekbench hint at a downgrade
The listing, spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav, points to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. The CPU includes four cores at 1.80GHz and four at up to 2.40GHz, along with an Adreno 710 GPU. It’s also shown running Android 16, which likely means One UI 8.5 at launch.
The benchmark scores, 777 single-core and 1,802 multi-core, sit where you would expect for this segment. The more interesting part is the hardware choice itself. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is not new, and the RAM is lower than what many devices now offer in this price range. This could be a way for Samsung to manage costs, especially with memory prices still fluctuating, and avoid increasing the starting price compared to the previous model. For context, the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G launched in March 2025 starting at Rs 24,999, with an Exynos 1380 chipset and 8GB of RAM. On paper, the A27’s setup looks slightly lighter.

However, that doesn’t always translate into a noticeable difference in everyday use. Samsung’s A-series has typically focused on keeping performance stable rather than pushing yearly spec increases. The A26 already offered a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 50MP camera system, and those are likely to remain similar.
The sub-Rs 25,000 segment has become more competitive, with brands like iQOO, Realme, and Redmi offering newer processors and higher RAM options at similar prices. Samsung continues to rely on software consistency, display quality, and long-term update support to hold its position in this segment. That approach may appeal to users who prefer a predictable experience over chasing higher numbers.
These details come from an early listing, so final specifications could still change. Even so, the hardware choices suggest Samsung may be trying to keep the phone accessible without raising prices. If you are comparing options, other brands may offer stronger specifications on paper. If you value software support and a stable experience, Samsung’s A-series still has its place. Pricing will play a key role in how the Galaxy A27 5G is received once it launches.
