Motorola Edge 70 – December 15th
Starting the week is the Motorola Edge 70, whose highlight is its ultra-slim design measuring 5.9mm. It will join the small but growing line of slim smartphones in India, including the Tecno Pova Slim, the iPhone Air, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The Edge 70 is confirmed to pack a 5,000mAh battery, slightly bigger than the global variant’s 4,800mAh unit. This would still seem decent given its slim form factor, but there are phones offering upwards of 6,000mAh and even 7,000mAh batteries. Coupled with the 5,000mAh battery is 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging support.

Up front, the Edge 70 has a 6.67-inch Super HD Extreme AMOLED display with HDR10+. The smartphone also comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection and military-grade durability. Adding to that are IP68+IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It has a 50MP triple-camera setup with a primary sensor, an ultra-wide camera, and a selfie camera. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone is also confirmed to get 3 years of Android upgrades.
The Motorola Edge 70 stands out as a solid option for anyone prioritising a slim, lightweight smartphone. While its specifications may not outshine rival devices in the same segment, it offers a sleek design without demanding a premium price, making it a practical pick for users who value portability over raw power.

OnePlus 15R – December 17th
As the name suggests, the OnePlus 15R is launching in India as the affordable alternative to the flagship OnePlus 15. It’s not compromising on hardware, though. The smartphone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the first to launch in India. It’s a flagship-level chipset with performance close to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. OnePlus 15R is also confirmed to house a 7,400mAh battery, one of the largest offered so far. This is paired with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging support.

Like the flagship OnePlus 15, the 15R is also getting a 165Hz refresh rate with a 1.5K AMOLED panel capable of reaching 1,800 nits peak brightness, and dimming down to 2 nits by default or 1 nit with Reduce White Point enabled. The screen has received TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification and is designed to deliver high clarity while reducing eye strain. OnePlus 15R’s camera system will support 4K video recording at 120fps, a capability previously exclusive to the OnePlus 15. It will also feature the in-house DetailMax Engine.
OnePlus 15R is shaping up into a performance-focused device that delivers flagship-grade capabilities at a more approachable price. For buyers seeking top-tier speed and features without the premium cost, the OnePlus 15R is one to wait for.
