Tecno is launching a new smartphone in India later this week — the Tecno Spark 50 5G. The smartphone has been teased on Amazon India with a dedicated microsite revealing its design and key details. The Tecno Spark 50 5G has an interesting design with its horizontal camera bar at the back of the phone. It’s similar to the Google Pixels and the iPhone Air, but it isn’t something new, as we’ve already seen this design on the Tecno Spark Go 5G. Tecno has also revealed battery specs and other features of the Spark 50 5G.
The Tecno Spark 50 5G will be powered by a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The battery capacity should suit both regular and moderate usage, stretching to an entire day, comfortably. While phones are offering 7,000mAh and larger batteries, the Tecno Spark 50 should still be enough, unless you’re a power user with limited access to charging points. The smartphone is also expected to be priced in the budget segment, so this might give it an edge over rivals.
In terms of design, the Tecno Spark 50 5G features a vertical camera bar at the back with the sensors tucked together and the LED flash on the right side. It appears to be a thin camera bar that doesn’t protrude too much. The smartphone will launch in four colours: Fantasy Purple, Mint Green, Ink Black, and Champagne Gold. With so many phones looking similar, this design might feel refreshing for some users.
The Tecno Spark 50 5G is also said to be MIL-STD certified for 1.5m drop resistance. It is claimed to deliver 2x faster payments, thanks to advanced signal-boosting UPS 3.0 technology. The smartphone also gets a no-network communication feature up to 1.5km. It’s also getting an Ella AI assistant in regional languages, further suggesting the brand’s aim to target the masses across the country with a more localised feature.
Since the Tecno Spark 50 5G is launching in India on March 27th, we’ll get to know the complete details very soon. For now, the smartphone appears to focus on a reliable battery life and stylish design with good durability. If these are your priorities, then you might want to wait for the Tecno Spark 50 5G.
The Tecno Spark 40 didn’t come to India, so we can’t directly compare it with a predecessor. But the smartphone might rival budget options like the OPPO K14X and Realme C83.
