Vivo confirms its first over-ear ANC headphones ahead of May 29th launch
Vivo has officially confirmed the launch of its first wireless over-ear noise-cancelling headphones in China, with the product set to debut on May 29th alongside the Vivo S60 series. At least from the teasers, Vivo doesn’t appear to be chasing an overly flashy image with its first attempt. The product looks more focused on comfort, convenience, and everyday use.
For a brand that has spent years only dishing out TWS, the move doesn’t feel surprising. Over-ear headphones have become a much bigger category recently, not just because of music streaming, but because people now wear headphones for everything from work calls and flights to gaming and binge-watching.

Design
Vivo’s teaser images show a fairly restrained design with large cushioned earcups, a soft matte finish, and minimal branding. Vivo says the headphones weigh around 238 gms, which is relatively light for this category. That may end up mattering more than things like driver size or tuning profiles for many users. Over-ear headphones often sound appealing on paper, but comfort becomes the real test after two hours on a flight or an entire workday spent switching between meetings, music, and videos.
The headphones will launch in Cloud White and Breeze Purple colour options. The purple colour option also gives the headphones a bit of character without feeling overly loud or experimental.

Vivo has confirmed support for active noise cancellation, which is expected to reduce surrounding noise in places like cafes, offices, and public transport. The company hasn’t yet shared details about ANC strength, audio drivers, codec support, or battery life. One feature Vivo is highlighting is triple-device connectivity across ecosystems. In practical use, that should allow users to stay connected to multiple devices like a phone, laptop, and tablet simultaneously without manually reconnecting every time they switch screens.
The headphones have already appeared on Chinese e-commerce platforms ahead of launch with reservations now live. Pricing will probably determine how competitive Vivo’s first attempt really is. If the company positions these well below Sony, Bose, and Apple while still offering reliable ANC and good comfort, there is room for the product to find an audience beyond just existing Vivo users.
