Vivo S60’s design teased ahead of launch; leaks point to Snapdragon 8 series processor and over 7,000mAh battery

Highlights

Launching in China soon, the Vivo S60 is the company’s upcoming mid-premium camera and design-focused smartphone. While the phone’s key specifications and features have already been reportedly revealed by the renowned tipster, Digital Chat Station, Vivo’s product manager has now officially teased the S60’s design ahead of its launch. Historically, Vivo phones launched under the “S” branding in China have generally landed in India as V series phones. Hence, there’s a high chance the S60 could be rebadged as the Vivo V80.

Here’s what Vivo’s product manager has to say about Vivo S60’s design

Vivo’s product manager, Han Boxiao, has shared new details about the design philosophy behind the upcoming Vivo S60 series, amid the growing leaks circulating over the last few weeks. Through a Weibo post, Han says that the Vivo S50’s “Winter Confession” colourway was well received by the users for its clean, warm, and soothing white tone

The Vivo S60 series, on the other hand, is shifting gears to match the summer season. The new design aims to capture a refreshing seaside atmosphere. This time around, the phone(s) will carry a silvery-white back panel, inspired by the shimmering reflection of stars on the sea during summer nights. When the light hits the back panel, the tiny blur spots on the back will shift dynamically as the phone moves, enhancing the “shimmering” visual.

That being said, it’s only fitting for a Vivo phone under the S lineup to focus heavily on the rear design in order to appeal to the targeted audience. From featuring glowing designs to carrying colour-changing panels, Vivo has always been in the race to come up with innovative designs, and this time it’s no different.

Vivo V60 key specifications leaked ahead of launch

Now, coming to the specifications, per DCS on Weibo, the Vivo S60 will sport a 6.59-inch 1.5K display, likely with AMOLED technology, with rounded corners. This appears to be the same panel as the Vivo S50 series, which launched in India as the V70 and V70 Elite. Powering up the Vivo S60 could be a Snapdragon 8s series processor, indicating a strong close-to-flagship performance.
