Vivo’s popular T5 series may soon see another model in India. The Vivo T5 Lite 5G has been rumoured for a while, and we have now received what can be called the first official confirmation of the handset. Earlier this month, we revealed that the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G is in development, featuring a 6,500mAh battery and 44W charging support. Now, 91mobiles has spotted the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G (yes, that’s the moniker) on the Google Play Supported devices list.

Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G Google Play listing
The Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G smartphone with the model numbers V2553 and V2557 has appeared on the Google Play Supported devices database. This essentially confirms the handset and suggests its imminent launch. Since it appeared on a global database, it could be that the Vivo T5 Lite launches in multiple markets.

The Google Play listing doesn’t reveal any specifications of the device, but it does confirm the phone’s existence and that it could launch soon.
Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G: what to expect
Based on our previous leak, the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G is tipped to house a 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. This battery capacity should be enough for an entire day’s usage or more, depending on the user. However, power users might want to go for 7,000mAh phones. In comparison to its predecessor, the Vivo T4 Lite has a 6,000mAh battery with 15W charging support. The battery capacity may have received a modest upgrade, but the charging output has been increased by a lot, which should result in quicker top-ups. Otherwise, battery performance will most likely be similar on both phones.
The Vivo T5 Lite is also tipped to feature either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or Dimensity 6400 chipset. If it’s the latter, then it would be an upgrade as the T4 Lite uses the Dimensity 6300. This chipset is popular in the budget segment and known for delivering capable performance for regular usage.
The smartphone is also expected to come with an IP65 rating, SGS Five-Star drop resistance certification, and military-grade durability as well. An IP65 rating is typical in the budget segment, but the additional durability would definitely give the Vivo T5 Lite an advantage over rivals. The handset could launch in two colour options: Wave Blue and Twilight Shadow.
The Vivo T4 Lite launched in India last June as a budget phone with a starting price of Rs 9,999. It’s now costlier with a starting price of Rs 12,999, but still one of the most affordable phones offered by Vivo. Its successor is expected to launch at around the same price, possibly under Rs 15,000. If you’re considering a new budget 5G smartphone right now, it would be wise to wait for the official launch of the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G, especially if its rumoured features like enhanced battery and faster charging appeal to you.
