Vivo has announced the launch of a new T5 series smartphone in India. After launching the Vivo T5 Pro and Vivo T5x, the company has now teased the arrival of the Vivo T5 Lite on Flipkart. The upcoming handset is expected to succeed last year’s Vivo T4 Lite, bringing a refreshed design, a larger battery, and the latest Android software to the budget segment.
Vivo T5 Lite India launch details
While Vivo has yet to announce an official launch date, the Flipkart teaser offers an early look at the smartphone’s design and highlights some of its key features. The Vivo T5 Lite is confirmed to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge support, making battery life one of its biggest selling points. The handset will be among the larger batteries available in its price segment, targeting users who prioritise reliable battery life.

The teaser also reveals its design. The Vivo T5 Lite features flat edges and a flat display, in line with current smartphone design trends. On the back, the handset sports a flat rear panel with a vertically aligned dual-camera setup, while the power button and volume rocker are positioned along one side of the frame. Vivo has also confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, making it one of the newer budget smartphones to launch with the latest software version out of the box.
Vivo T5 Lite specifications (expected)
Although the company has not officially detailed the remaining specifications, recent leaks suggest the Vivo T5 Lite could be powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. Both processors are designed for entry-level 5G smartphones and should comfortably handle day-to-day tasks such as messaging, streaming, web browsing, and light gaming.
The smartphone is also tipped to feature a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits High Brightness Mode (HBM) brightness. This display setup is quite typical for a budget smartphone. For photography, the Vivo T5 Lite is expected to feature a 50MP primary rear camera alongside a secondary sensor, while selfies and video calls could be handled by a 5MP front-facing camera. Other rumoured features include an IP65-rated dust and water-resistant build.
Leaks further suggest the handset will be available in 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB storage variants. Its colour options could be Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue.
With the T5 Lite, Vivo appears to be strengthening its presence in the highly competitive budget 5G market. Compared to the performance-focused Vivo T5 Pro and the more balanced Vivo T5x, the Lite variant is expected to prioritise battery life, essential features, and affordability.
If Vivo manages to price the T5 Lite competitively, it could appeal to first-time 5G buyers, students, and users upgrading from older budget phones who value long battery life, fast charging, and the latest Android experience.
