Vivo appears to be gearing up for its next major mid-range release in India, as early details of the upcoming Vivo T5 Pro have surfaced online. The device will succeed the Vivo T4 Pro, which launched in India last August with a strong focus on battery life and balanced performance. Its successor, the Vivo T5 Pro, could push that formula much further with a much larger battery, according to a new leak.

Vivo T5 Pro battery details leaked

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Vivo T5 Pro will feature a massive 9,020mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. For context, the T4 Pro already stood out with its 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, but the rumored jump signals how aggressively brands are now competing on endurance. What started as a trend with 7,000mAh batteries has quickly evolved to even bigger capacities.

Smartphones like the POCO X8 Pro Max 5G with a 9,000mAh unit and the Realme P4 Power 5G with a 10,001mAh battery show that ultra-large batteries are possible and in an accessible price segment.

With a 9,020mAh battery, the Vivo T5 Pro would definitely lead the pack in terms of endurance, and one can easily squeeze out two days of usage with this capacity.

Display upgrades tipped for Vivo T5 Pro

The Vivo T5 Pro is tipped to offer upgrades in other areas, too. It may introduce a noticeably sharper and smoother display compared to its predecessor. While the T4 Pro offered a FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, the new model is tipped to step up to a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. That kind of upgrade would give the Vivo T5 Pro an advantage over other mid-range phones with a flagship-level experience for not just the scrolling experience but gaming as well. The smartphone will also most likely launch with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, out of the box.

Chipset details are still under wraps, and performance will ultimately determine how well the device balances its ambitious hardware. But the Vivo T5 Pro is shaping up to be one smartphone you should definitely keep an eye out for. If you prioritise long battery life and a smooth display, it might be worth waiting to see how the Vivo T5 Pro shapes up, especially given the rapid shift toward 9,000mAh-plus devices. However, if your needs are more balanced, covering camera, durability, and dependable day-to-day performance, the Vivo T4 Pro still holds up as a sensible buy at its current pricing.

With competition intensifying and specifications climbing rapidly, the Vivo T5 Pro could end up being less about incremental upgrades and more about going aggressive with hardware. This also hints at an upward price range for the T5 Pro, considering the ongoing trend of price hikes due to increasing component costs. The Vivo T4 Pro launched at a starting price of Rs 27,999. The T5 Pro may launch at a much higher price.
