A week after releasing the initial teaser, Vivo has now confirmed that the V70 and V70 Elite will launch in India on February 19th. The new lineup will succeed the V60 series, which debuted last year. This will be the first time the V-series will have an ‘Elite’ member, and the first to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chipset. The move to a significantly more powerful platform is expected to deliver substantial performance gains over its predecessor. It also underscores Vivo’s intent to push the V-series into flagship-grade territory, broadening its appeal beyond the lineup’s traditionally camera-centric identity.

Beyond confirming the launch date, the teaser poster also offers a clear look at the design of the Vivo V70 series and reveals Bollywood actors Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra as the brand ambassadors. The poster prominently highlights the rear design of the smartphone in detail.
The most noticeable change is the new square camera module, replacing the more distinctive pill-shaped camera island seen on previous models. The device also appears to feature flat edges instead of curved sides, lending it a more conventional, contemporary look. As a result, the V70 series design aligns closely with current smartphone trends. Moreover, the handset can be seen in a red colour option.
Vivo has already confirmed that the Vivo V70 Elite will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, while the Vivo V60 is expected to rock Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC under the hood. Both smartphones will run the latest custom Android skin from Vivo, OriginOS, out of the box.
The Vivo V70 series will also come with the segment’s largest 1.3cm sensor and a 50MP Zeiss night telephoto camera with support for 4K video recording at 60fps. The handset is also said to deliver pro-level portrait performance – in line with previous V-series offerings as well. Moreover, there will be AI photography to enhance the image quality of the V70 smartphones. The company also claims the Vivo V70 and V70 Elite, with the segment’s (sub-Rs 50,000) narrowest bezels. Both smartphones are said to offer a balanced in-hand feel and launch in stunning new colours.
A Geekbench listing of the alleged Vivo V70 Elite, with model number V2548, has also surfaced online. It may have the motherboard mentioned as “pineapple”, which is the codename of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform. However, the 3GHz peak clock speed mentioned in the listing aligns more closely with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
For context, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a sub-flagship chipset introduced last year. We’ve already seen it in action on devices like the OnePlus Nord 5 and iQOO Neo 10R, where it delivered impressive performance and efficiency for its class. It’s a no-brainer to go with it for the 2026 mid-range smartphone.
On the Vivo V70 Elite, the chipset is likely to be paired with 12GB RAM, which helps it score 1,973 and 4,863 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. These are decent scores for a smartphone, which is likely to be priced in the upper mid-range segment. There could be other RAM variants of the smartphone as well, which should become clearer closer to the launch date. Software-wise, the handset will certainly run Android 16, confirmed by Geekbench, layered atop the company’s OriginOS 6 out of the box.
The Vivo V70 series will come in a red colour option. It is reported that the vanilla Vivo V70 will come in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite might launch in Sand Beige and Black. Additionally, there are rumours that the Vivo V70 series could feature a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP triple rear cameras, and a 6,500mAh battery, backed by 90W fast charging.
Considering the upgrades on offer, the Vivo V70 series appears to be a lineup worth waiting for. The smartphones are likely to appeal strongly to mid-range camera enthusiasts, and if previous V-series devices are any indication, Vivo will once again lean into its strengths with a rich selection of camera filters, portrait styles, and wedding-themed shooting modes.
