Vivo V70 allegedly spotted on Geekbench with the same chipset as its predecessor
Ahead of the Vivo flagship X300 series launch in India, a new smartphone, rumoured to be the mid-range Vivo V70, has hit the internet. Tech blogger Anvin has spotted the Vivo V2538, which is allegedly being identified as the V70, on the global benchmarking app Geekbench. The listing reveals the single-core and multi-core scores of the smartphone, along with the software and RAM information. Upon further digging, the blogger was able to map the chipset information back to Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC.
If the leak holds true, the upcoming Vivo V70 will feature the same chipset as its predecessor, the Vivo V60, which debuted in August. According to the listing, the chipset is an octa-core setup with a prime core clocked at 2.8GHz, four performance cores at 2.40GHz, and three efficiency cores running at 1.84GHz. Additionally, noted tipster Abhishek Yadav has spotted the same Vivo device with the model number on Geekbench’s OpenCL benchmark, revealing the presence of the Adreno 722 GPU – a component exclusive to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform.

Both listings confirm that the smartphone will run Android 16 and come with 8GB of RAM. The device scores 1,235 and 3,920 in the Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. These scores are in line with its predecessor, so if you have the Vivo V60, there is no need to upgrade to the upcoming V70 as far as performance is concerned.
It’s likely that Vivo will offer other memory configurations as well, much like the V60, which was also available in a 12GB variant. Interestingly, the V70 may not be the only model in the lineup. Bluetooth SIG and FCC certifications have revealed a Vivo V70 Lite 4G – a rather surprising move, considering that the V series typically targets mid-range buyers who now expect 5G connectivity. Therefore, it’s best to take this information with a pinch of salt until official details surface.
Coming back to the Vivo V70, its recent appearance on Geekbench suggests that the launch could be drawing closer. However, before it officially debuts, the device still needs to secure BIS certification – a mandatory step for all smartphones released in India. We’ll be watching for that development closely. That said, given Vivo’s current focus on the flagship X300 series, it’s quite possible that the V70’s launch might be pushed back. An early 2026 release window seems like a more realistic expectation.
Either way, sticking with the same chipset as its predecessor shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. It’s still a relatively new processor from Qualcomm, announced in May, and offers more than enough power for everyday tasks, which aligns well with the V-series’ target audience. The real highlight of the lineup has always been its design and camera performance, so it will be interesting to see what improvements Vivo brings this time.
In our review of the Vivo V60, we found its cameras performed well in daylight, delivering pleasing colours and good sharpness, but low-light results left room for improvement. Compared to rivals like the OnePlus 13R, the V60 often missed finer details that could have given it a competitive edge.
If the Vivo V70 manages to refine its imaging capabilities while enhancing other key areas, it could turn out to be a strong contender among camera enthusiasts despite more powerful options available in the sub-Rs 40,000 segment.
