Vivo V70, V70 Elite teased to launch in India soon with a refreshed design, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and Zeiss cameras
After several leaks and rumours, Vivo has finally started teasing its V70 series in India. The lineup will launch with two phones: Vivo V70 and V70 Elite. Vivo’s V-series caters to the premium mid-range segment with phones in different price ranges starting from Rs 28,999 and going up to Rs 49,999. This lineup focuses on premium design and cameras, while still offering a balanced package overall. It’s also worth mentioning that this is the first time Vivo is introducing an ‘Elite’ model in the V-series.
Vivo has put out teasers of the V70 series revealing some details of the upcoming phones. Although not specified, the Vivo V70 lineup is confirmed to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This would be an upgrade over the outgoing Vivo V60, which features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. Users can expect improvements in overall performance. However, it might still fall short against some phones like the OPPO K13 Turbo, which runs the newer Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, and is more performance focused.

Cameras are where the Vivo V70 is expected to shine, given the experience with the V60. The Vivo V70 phones will come with Zeiss optics offering a versatile setup and feature-rich cameras. Both phones are also expected to come with AI features for photography, something we’ve been seeing on Vivo’s V-series.
The Vivo V70 series also appears to go through a design shift ditching the curved edges for a flat frame. The teaser video shows a V70 series phone with flat edges and a square-shaped camera module, completely different from the V60, which has a curved design. This suggests that the V70 and V70 Elite might come with a flat display and not curved like their predecessor. The design change would keep the V70 series updated with most new phones adopting the flat design approach.
The confirmed details also align with the leaks and rumours surrounding the Vivo V70 series. Both smartphones are expected to sport a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Where the two models will likely differ is in their choice of processor. The V70 Elite is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the standard V70, is said to rely on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the same chipset used in the Vivo V60 5G, suggesting no generational upgrade. As a result, the Elite variant is shaping up to be the more appealing option for buyers who want stronger performance and greater long-term headroom.
The Vivo V70 series is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 3x ZEISS telephoto camera. India-specific features such as AI Holi Festive Portrait mode, AI Magic Weather, and Flower Blessing, are expected to continue with the V70 phones.
Vivo may also continue with the same 6,500mAh battery and 90W fast charging on the V70 lineup. This is the same setup as the V60, which isn’t necessarily bad as you’d still get a good 1+ day of usage. But phones like the OnePlus 15R with a 7,400mAh battery would have a definite upper hand here. Vivo will most likely ship the V70 phones with the latest OriginOS out of the box. If the same 4+6 software support continues then the V70 series would be set for long-term use.
Colour options for the Vivo V70 series have also been tipped. The standard V70 is expected in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite might launch in Sand Beige and Black.
Based on the confirmed and leaked information so far, the Vivo V70 series appears to carry forward the core formula of the V60 lineup, pairing capable processors with feature-focused cameras and adequately sized batteries. A refreshed design and the promise of longer software support could make the series appealing to upgraders. However, this appeal may largely rest on the V70 Elite, as the standard V70 seems positioned as a more modest, incremental update. Given this split in approach, it would be wise to wait for full reviews before committing to the new V70 series.
