The Vivo V80 is scheduled to launch in India on October 8th. The OEM has already confirmed key specifications of the phone, including the latest OriginOS 7, a 7,200mAh battery, 4K cinematic video recording, and more. Meanwhile, the smartphone is expected to feature a large camera plateau instead of the squircle-shaped camera module seen on the Vivo V70, while leaks have pointed towards a mid-range chipset. Vivo V80 box price (leaked)
X user Ahsan Kharbai has shared that the Vivo V80 will carry a box MRP of Rs 1,19,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. However, the launch price is expected to be much cheaper. The X user predicts the launch price to be around Rs 60,000, which is in the same ballpark as the current MOP of its predecessor, Vivo V70. The latter is selling at Rs 59,999 for its 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM option costs Rs 64,999.
If Vivo is able to keep the Vivo V80 pricing identical, it could make it a promising option worth considering given its iterative upgrades. Alongside, the Vivo V80, the OEM is also planning to introduce the Vivo S2 FE, which will be a more affordable alternative to Vivo S2 – introduced back in August.
Vivo V80 specifications
The Vivo V80 will debut with a new design language for the V-series. The flat edges will remain, but the squircle-shaped camera module at the back will be replaced by a large camera plateau, similar to the ones seen on the iPhone 17 and 18 Pro models. The smartphone has also been teased in an Orange colour. Moving on, the handset will prioritise cameras and cater to the needs of content creators.
The Vivo V80 will sport a triple rear camera setup with Zeiss tuning. The cameras will also support 4K Cinematic and 4K 60fps video recording. Furthermore, the smartphone will feature 30 AI-powered creative features, including AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed to turn moments into instantly shareable content.
The Vivo V80 will also feature an upgraded 7,200mAh battery, up from the 6,500mAh unit on the Vivo V70. The handset will also be the first in the country to boot OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 out of the box.
At the core of the smartphone may lie the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, the same chipset found on the Vivo V70, so performance is expected to be similar. The camera sensor details are under wraps for now. For context, the Vivo V70 features a 50MP main + 50MP telephoto + 8MP ultrawide camera setup. It is a capable combination, although the ultrawide camera was a slight let-down compared to the other sensors. Hopefully, Vivo addresses this with the upcoming Vivo V80.
