Vivo’s next-generation foldable could launch as early as this month. While the brand has yet to officially tease the X Fold 6, it’s been appearing on several leaks online. A fresh leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Vivo is preparing to unveil the Vivo X Fold 6 in China towards the end of June. While an earlier rumour had pointed to a broader April-to-June launch window, this is the first time a more specific timeframe has surfaced.
The Vivo X Fold 6 is tipped to arrive as the successor to the X Fold 5, which set a benchmark in the foldable segment with one of the largest batteries seen in a mainstream foldable smartphone. According to the latest information, Vivo is planning to raise the bar even further.
The biggest upgrade could come in the battery department. The X Fold 6 is said to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, representing a substantial increase over the X Fold 5’s 6,000mAh cell (review). If accurate, the device could establish a new benchmark for battery capacity among book-style foldables.
Battery life remains one of the biggest pain points for foldable buyers, with many flagship foldables from Samsung and Google still offering batteries in the 4,000mAh to 5,00mAh range. A 7,000mAh battery would give vivo a significant advantage on paper, especially for power users who rely on multitasking, productivity apps, and extended media consumption.
The handset is also expected to be powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset. With this chipset, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to compete directly with Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship offerings in terms of performance, efficiency, and AI processing.
On the imaging front, Vivo may continue its focus on flagship-grade cameras. The foldable is rumoured to feature a 200MP primary camera paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Like its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 6 could offer one of the most capable camera systems in the foldable category. The device is also expected to retain the large circular rear camera module seen on its predecessor, although the display is tipped to feature slightly more rounded corners for a refreshed look.
The Vivo X Fold 6 appears to be shaping up as an iterative upgrade rather than a complete redesign. However, the combination of a larger battery, flagship chipset, and upgraded camera hardware could make it one of the most compelling foldables of 2026. We should still wait for more details regarding the foldable’s specifications, and especially its price.
