Vivo’s next book-style foldable could arrive in India soon, bringing a 7,000mAh battery, a 200MP camera and flagship hardware to a segment where battery capacity and thinner designs are key differentiators. The Vivo X Fold 6 was launched in China in June and is already confirmed for a wider global rollout, although Vivo has yet to officially announce its India plans.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo X Fold 6 could launch in India on October 6th at 12 noon, following a reported global launch on October 1st. If the dates are accurate, India would get the foldable five days after its global debut and around four months after its China launch. This is a bit unusual as Vivo has already scheduled the launch of the Vivo V80 and S2 FE on the said date and time.

The leak claims that Vivo will offer the phone in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB configurations, with Prism Black and Nebula Teal colour options. This would be a change from the X Fold 5, which arrived in India in a single 16GB + 512GB Titanium Grey configuration.
The X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.1 lakh) in China for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 512GB version costs CNY 8,999. Indian pricing has not been revealed. For context, the Vivo X Fold 5 launched in India at Rs 1,59,999, although it’s now available for less through online discounts and bank offers.
Vivo X Fold 6 specifications
The Vivo X Fold 6 features an 8.02-inch 120Hz inner AMOLED display and a 6.51-inch 120Hz AMOLED cover screen. Both displays reportedly support HDR and up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. The phone also has IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, while its hinge is rated for 600,000 folds.
The foldable is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS in China, while the global version is tipped to move to OriginOS 7.
Its biggest hardware highlight is the 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. The capacity is considerably higher than the 5,000mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and also exceeds the 6,660mAh battery of the Honor Magic V6. For photography, the X Fold 6 gets a Zeiss-tuned 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. There are also 20MP selfie cameras on both displays.
For buyers, the X Fold 6’s large battery and versatile camera setup could make it particularly relevant against current premium foldables, but its Indian price will determine how compelling the package is. Those comparing it with Samsung or upcoming rivals should wait for Vivo to confirm the India launch and pricing before making a purchase decision.
