Vivo X300 Max nears launch as it clears Chinese certifications, specs surface
Vivo’s next flagship phone, the Vivo X300 Max, seems to be moving closer to launch. The device has surfaced on Chinese certification platforms such as SRRC and CCC with the model number V2548A. Even though Vivo hasn’t publicly teased the phone yet, the certifications confirm that the phone is real and Vivo is preparing it for release.
Most of the spec details we have come from tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS). According to DCS, the X300 Max will run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. That’s the same chipset found on other members of Vivo’s flagship family – the X300 and X300 Pro.

The detail getting the most attention is the battery. DCS says the X300 Max could pack at least a 7,000mAh unit with 90W fast charging. In 2026, that number isn’t shocking. Xiaomi, OPPO and others have already pushed 7,000mAh and beyond batteries into premium phones, thanks to newer battery tech. That said, it would be a change in direction for Vivo’s X300 series, which were the only Chinese flagships not packing 7,000mAh batteries this season. If the 7,000mAh figure holds true, the X300 Max may be designed as the model you pick if you care about lasting longer between charges, rather than just chasing the highest camera specs, which has been Vivo’s pitch traditionally for its flagships.
On the display side, the X300 Max is said to feature a 6.78-inch flat LTPO panel with 1.5K resolution. LTPO screens can adjust refresh rates dynamically, helping balance smooth visuals with battery savings. DCS also mentions a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display, which is generally seen on premium devices for faster and more secure unlocking.
Cameras remain central to Vivo’s X-series strategy. The leak points to a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with telephoto macro support. A new ZEISS-branded lens system is also mentioned, continuing Vivo’s collaboration with the optics brand. Support for the N79 5G band and IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings are part of the reported package as well.
What makes this launch interesting is the addition of a ‘Max’ model in Vivo’s flagship lineup. Until now, the company’s top-tier devices have typically carried Pro and Ultra branding, occasionally interspersing it with a X200T or a X200 Pro Mini. Introducing a Max variant suggests Vivo may be carving out a separate space within its premium range. Based on the rumoured battery size and display, the X300 Max could sit between the standard X300 and the expected X300 Ultra, offering a larger screen and stronger battery life without necessarily being the absolute top-spec device.
For buyers, the regular X300 would likely remain the more balanced flagship for most people. The X300 Pro would continue focussing on strong cameras and top-end hardware without necessarily going bigger or heavier. The new X300 Max, based on the leaks, may be the one aimed at people who care more about battery life and a larger screen, while the X300 Ultra would sit at the very top.
For now, though, Vivo has not confirmed any of this. The certifications show that a new phone is close to launch. An official announcement in China should clarify where the X300 Max stands.
